HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR BEDROOM SPACE
Your bedroom should be an enjoyable part of your home that allows you to relax and unwind. If your bedroom isn’t as large as some of the other rooms of your home, you may need to get a bit creative to make the most of your bedroom space. Check out the following tips to help you design your bedroom and do the most with smaller spaces.
Don’t overdo it when it comes to color. Try to stick with a somewhat limited color palette. If you don’t enjoy an all-white look, add a couple of your favorite colors in a tasteful manner.
If you have a small space, avoid doing too much with window treatments. This will free up space and allow the most natural lighting to enter the room. Add some plain roller blinds for privacy but avoid anything too bulky.
In order to maximize storage space and avoid clutter, try a floor-to-ceiling fitted unit which can house just about anything and add to the overall look and feel of the room.
Try adding a natural green screen in front of your bedroom window by lining up some potted plants which will create a privacy screen as well as naturally filter the air when you have your windows open.
Size matters when it comes to beds. In a small room having a bed that’s too large can really take up valuable real estate. Try a smaller size or you can even opt for an old-school Murphy bed to free up space during the day.
Be practical with the pieces you use in your compact bedroom. Try items with dual purposes such as a storage ottoman or bench at the foot of the bed. Try to find storage space under the bed if possible.
